The Division for the Organization and Provision of Medical Care with the use of Telemedicine in the Field of Hematology was established in 2017 with the aim of developing telemedicine technologies and ensuring the activities of the NMRC for Hematology as a Federal Telemedicine Advisory Center (functioning since November 2015).

MAIN AREAS OF ACTIVITY

1. Organization and provision of medical care using telemedicine technologies in the field of hematology

Telemedicine doctor to doctor level consultations are conducted upon requests from specialized medical organizations of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation received through the Federal Telemedicine System of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.

Consultations are carried out by highly specialized, highly qualified specialists.

Since November 2015, employees of the NMRC for Hematology have conducted more than 15,000 telemedicine consultations/consultations on patients from all regions of the Russian Federation. There has been a significant increase in the demand for consultations using telemedicine technologies: from single requests in 2015-2016 to 400 or more monthly in 2023-2024.

For tumor diseases of the blood system, regional specialists most often seek advice on the diagnosis and treatment of non—Hodgkin's lymphomas, acute leukemias and multiple myeloma, Hodgkin's lymphoma, and Ph-negative chronic myeloproliferative diseases. Telemedicine technologies also make it possible for doctors to provide advice on nosologies such as hereditary and acquired coagulopathy, hemolytic anemia and acute porphyria. Radiological research data (CT, MRI), images of histological preparations, as well as clarification of antimicrobial therapy tactics are also discussed during consultations. 

2. Organizational-methodological and scientific-methodological guidance of subjects in the field of organization and provision of medical care in the field of hematology with the use of telemedicine technologies, improvement of the organization of medical care with the use of telemedicine technologies in the field of hematology.
