Preparation instructions for a colonoscopy
1. Take one of the following three drugs on the eve of the study:
1) the drug "Fortrans"
at the rate of 1 packet per 25 kg of the patient's weight. Dissolve each packet in 1 liter of cold boiled water. Start taking the solution from 16:00 on the eve of the study, 1 liter per hour (250 ml in 15 minutes);2) the drug "Endofalk"
To prepare 1 liter of solution, the contents of 2 sachets are dissolved in 1/2 liter of cooled boiled (purified) water. Then the volume of the solution is adjusted to 1 liter. To completely cleanse the intestines, it is recommended to prepare and take at least 3 liters of Endofalk solution (if the patient's weight is no more than 75 kg). Start taking the solution from 16:00 on the eve of the study, 1 liter per hour (250 ml in 15 minutes);3) the drug "Fleet Phospho-soda"
In the morning at 7:00 for breakfast: only water or light liquid - at least 1 cup (you may have soups free of solid particles, fruit juices without pulp, tea and coffee, clear carbonated and non-carbonated soft drinks) or water.
The first dose of Fleet Phospho-soda should be taken immediately after breakfast. In half a glass (120 ml) of cold water, dissolve the contents of 1 bottle (45 ml). Drink the prepared solution and wash it down with one (or more) glass (240 ml) of cold water.
At 13:00 for lunch: only water or light liquid - at least 3 glasses (720 ml).
At 19:00 for dinner: only water or light liquid - at least 1 cup.
Second dose of the drug should be taken immediately after dinner. In half a glass (120 ml) of cold water, dissolve the contents of the second bottle (45 ml). Drink the prepared solution and wash it down with one (or more) glass (240 ml) of cold water. It is permissible to drink more liquids if you desire. You can drink light liquids and water until midnight.2. Follow the following diet for 2-3 days before colonoscopy:
Do not eat:
- fresh vegetables (beets, carrots, cabbage, turnips, radishes, radishes, onions, garlic, tomatoes, sorrel, spinach);
- some cereals (oatmeal, pearl barley, millet);
- legumes (lentils, beans, peas, beans);
- fruits (apricots, peaches, apples, dates, oranges, bananas, tangerines, grapes, raisins, kiwi, raspberries, gooseberries);
- nuts;
- black bread;
- milk, carbonated drinks and kvass.
Permissible to eat:
- broths;
- boiled beef, poultry, fish;
- dairy products;
- wholemeal white bread or non-nutritious biscuits;
- pasta, rice.
