S.A. Gerk3 April 2026Gratitude to the hematologists T.I. Solovieva, A.U. Magomedova, Y.K. Mangasarova, E.A. Fastova, as well as to the pathologist A.M. KovriginaRead the entire reviewCollapseAfter five months of testing to identify the type of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma of the mediastinum in our father, in a complex, life-threatening condition with limited respiratory function, by the happy will of fate, in November 2025, we found ourselves at the NMRC for Hematology of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation at an appointment with a hematologist, Candidate of Medical Sciences Tatiana Ivanovna Solovieva. The doctor examined Dad carefully, studied his medical history, explained that in this very difficult case urgent hospitalization was necessary. First and foremost, it was necessary to establish a correct diagnosis. My father was examined by the head of the polyclinic, doctors of the Department of Chemotherapy of Lymphatic tumors with Bone Marrow and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation Unit. Doctor Aminat Umarashabovna Magomedova conducted a thorough examination and supported my father, who was losing faith, saying calmly and confidently: “Everything will be fine, we will take you for treatment and we will try to cure you!” From that moment on, there was a spark of hope for recovery! We are in the safe hands of professional doctors! The head of the department, Candidate of Medical Sciences Yana Konstantinovna Mangasarova, is a competent, attentive and in—depth specialist, a doctor from God, explained that the diagnosis was debatable, ordered comprehensive detailed examinations, and within a week a difficult diagnosis was made “lymphocytic lymphoma with transformation into large cell lymphoma.” Such a diagnosis is a serious challenge for an elderly person (66 years old)! However, the NMRC for Hematology did not refuse and began to treat my father! The patient was prescribed a modern chemotherapeutic protocol of R-CHOP therapy, adapted for age-related patients, taking into account concomitant pathologies.
From the first minutes of Dad's stay in the department to the present, the attending physician, Ekaterina Fastova, is always there. She is an incredibly sensitive, kind person, her daily care, a clear explanation of the stages of therapy and possible risks, moral support and golden hands helped to overcome difficulties during treatment, and most importantly, they did not let us despair! It seems that the doctor is working around the clock. Ekaterina Alexandrovna promptly responds to the my father’s complaints, carefully monitors his condition, correctly and timely corrects the treatment. During the six months of treatment, Ekaterina Alexandrovna became a dear person to us, a part of our family! My father celebrated the New Year 2026 in the hospital with a high fever and IVs! He told us about how the staff of the department went in late in the evening of the 30th of January 2025 and congratulated the patients, and the head, Yana Konstantinovna, stopped, put her arm around his shoulders and said: “Don't worry, we will cure you!” Thanks to such positive, sincere and warm support, my father gained new inner strength to overcome negative painful situations.
The team of the department woks as a single organism. All doctors, middle and junior medical staff are a friendly and cohesive team, which, under the leadership of Yana K. Mangasarova, perform their work at the highest level and conscientiously. Your work is a combination of the highest professionalism, jewelry precision and incredible patience. In a department where every day there is a struggle for life, you create an atmosphere of hope and confidence not only for patients, but also for loved ones and their families. We sincerely thank the team for their hard work, respectful attitude towards patients, and the opportunity to be with our dear person again! Seeing him at home again is a great happiness for all of our relatives!
Special sincere thanks and appreciation to the team of specialists of the Department of Pathology headed by Alla Kovrigina, for the accurate and highly qualified diagnosis of biopsy material, which, of course, was key in making a complex diagnosis and choosing the right treatment tactics for this lymphoproliferative disease.
Further treatment is ahead! But we know that our father is in good hands!
