The department was established in 2012 as a part of the Department of High-Dose Hemoblastosis Chemotherapy and Bone Marrow Transplantation. For several years, the staff of the two departments worked together in the field of implementing transplantation techniques in various diseases of the oncohematological profile and increasing activity in the treatment of multiple myeloma. During those years, the division was headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor L P. Mendeleeva.
In 2018, the Department of Hematology and Chemotherapy of Paraproteinemic Hemoblastoses with a Bone Marrow and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation Unit moved to newly renovated premises and has 22 specialized hematology beds, including 1-bed, 2-bed and 4-bed wards.

The department functions as part of the Division of Chemotherapy of Paraproteinemic Hemoblastosis.
The department, as an independent clinical unit, was organized in 2022. The need to open this department as part of the Division of Chemotherapy of Paraproteinemic Hemoblastosis was dictated by the increased need for diagnostic and therapeutic measures for patients with various plasma cell tumors in outpatient settings. Doctors working in the day hospital participate in rounds and are on duty in the round-the-clock Department of Hematology and Chemotherapy of Paraproteinemic Hemoblastosis with Bone Marrow and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation Unit, which provides in-depth knowledge of the course of the disease in patients with plasma cell tumors receiving intensive antitumor treatment. Close cooperation with the department's round-the-clock hospitals makes it possible to maintain continuity in patient therapy.

The Hematology Clinic of the Institute of Blood Transfusion was established in 1927 on the initiative of professors M.P. Konchalovsky and H.H. Vlados.
From 1969-1988 the head of the Hematology Clinic was the Honored Worker of Science of the RSFSR, a participant in the Second World War, Professor F.E. Feinstein. Under his leadership, work continued on the study of leukemia, lymphomas, aplastic anemia, and hemolytic anemia; treatment protocols were improved for these diseases; programs were developed for the treatment of leukemia, aplastic anemia, including bone marrow transplantation. F.E. Feinshtein is one of the authors of the monographs “Diseases of the Blood System” (1980, 1987), “Hematopoietic Depression” (1987).
In 1972, the first 8-bed transplant unit was opened in the clinic, where under the guidance of L.S. Lyubimova, from 1972-74, the first studies were conducted on the treatment of patients with aplastic anemia with intravenous administration of allogeneic bone marrow using anti- lymphocytic globulin. In 1977 L.S. Lyubimova and L.P. Day Hospital of Immunochemotherapy after Bone Marrow and Hematopoietic Stem Cell TransplantationThe head of the department is hematologist, Vera A. Vasilieva, Candidate of Medical Sciences.
The department as an independent unit was opened in November 2018 However, since 2016, the doctors of this unit have been engaged in outpatient admission of patients after BMT within the Department of Intensive High-Dose Chemotherapy and Bone Marrow Transplantation with Round-the-Clock Hospital (Head of the Department – Cand. Sci. (Med.), L.A. Kuzmina.)
The department is indispensable due to the increasing number of patients after BMT. The experience accumulated by the department in managing patients helps to coherently monitor, carry out diagnostic and preventive procedures for patients after BMT, and prevent serious complications at early stages. Patients are monitored throughout their entire subsequent life after allo-HSCT, more thoroughly during the first year after allogeneic BMT, since all significant events occur at this time. Particular attention is paid to patients with chronic GVHD, prevention of relapses and the presence of other complications after allo-HSCT.
In order to improve the quality of medical care, the doctors of the department created the "Patient Schools" project, which highlights potential problems and all topical issues related to allo- HSCT. All school lessons are recorded as video recommendations and posted on the website for transplant patients ( tkm.blood.ru ).

PetrovaRead the entire reviewCollapsePlease accept the most sincere words of gratitude to the hematologist, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Anna Nikolaevna Petrova, for her professionalism, sensitivity, and responsible attitude towards human life. A.N. Petrova selected optimal treatment strategies that meet the "gold standards" of the NMRC for Hematology of the Ministry of Health of Russia and world practice. Upon initial admission to the NMRC for Hematology, Anna Nikolaevna professionally and painlessly performed a medical manipulation (puncture) for subsequent cytogenetic examination for the patient, explained in detail the features of the diet during drug treatment, the risks of drug interaction, including with the help of foreign reference systems, and deciphered in a form convenient for the patient the features of the SOKAL and ELTS prognosis indices by providing the patient with knowledge and information that was not available to him on the periphery of Russia. A.N. Petrova always goes the extra mile to meet the patient halfway, staying in touch with him using all available communication channels. Personal qualities of A.N. Petrova such as empathy towards patients, dedication, broad outlook and the desire for self-improvement are model and defining for most employees of NMRC for Hematology. It is also necessary to note the high publication activity of A.N. Petrova, her research activities together with colleagues at the NMRC for Hematology, and participation in All-Russian and international scientific conferences. With her daily work, A. N. Petrova confirms the inviolability of the norms of bioethics, deontology and the "Hippocratic oath": treating each patient with respect, showing care and mercy to everyone who asks for help.Anti-corruptionHelpline of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation on Anti-corruption IssuesIndependent assessment of the quality of conditions for the provision of services by medical organizationsOfficial website of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "NMRC for Hematology" of the Ministry of Health of Russia © 2024Site support - ADDU - Official Information
