The office functions as part of the Department of Radiology.
The department specializes in X-ray radiological examination (radiography, computed tomography) of patients with hematological pathology and a wide range of concomitant diseases.
The office employs radiologists with unique experience in radiographic examination of patients with hemoblastosis, hematopoiesis pathology, orphan diseases and concomitant pathology of infectious and non-infectious nature.
The department performs a full range of X-ray and computed tomography studies using contrast agents, among them: CT of the brain, thoracic cavity, abdominal cavity and retroperitoneal space, pelvis, CT of bones and joints, and CT angiography of various areas. The department has developed a method of examination for patients with multiple myeloma- low-dose CT of skeletal bones as well as a method for examination of patients with chronic GVHD with lung damage.
The specialists of the department regularly study at thematic refresher courses and possess modern methods of X-ray diagnostics both for routine examination and for emergency indications. They are engaged in exchanging experiences in cases that are difficult to interpret and conduct joint analyses of obtained data with colleagues and the head of the department. Residents and postgraduates are trained on the basis of the unit. Qualified nursing staff conduct various types of X-ray examinations both on a stationary X-ray machines in the department and on mobile ward X-ray machines. The staff is also proficient in the methods of bolus contrast examination.
Contrast-free and radiopaque studies using modern radiological equipment allow us to quickly and effectively solve a wide range of diagnostic tasks faced by clinicians, including diagnosis, differential diagnosis and dynamic observation of infectious diseases in patients with immunodeficiency, neoplasms, acute and chronic hemodynamic disorders, pathology of the bone and joint apparatus, etc.
The office performs up to 4,000 X-ray examinations and up to 12,500 CT scans annually.

Evelina E. Mirzoyan- radiologist of the highest category, Candidate of Medical Sciences. Evelina Mirzoyan graduated from the Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University with a degree in general medicine (1972). She was trained in clinical residency in therapy. After completing courses in radiology (1976), she began working at the NMRC for Hematology.
Mikhail K. Gitis - radiologist. Mikhail Gitis graduated from the N.I. Pirogov Russian State Medical University with a degree in general medicine (2003). He completed his clinical internship in neurology at the N. I. Pirogov State Clinical Hospital No.1. He studied in clinical residency in the specialty "radiology" at the NMRC for Hematology (2004 - 2006). From 2006 to the present, he has been working at the NMRC for Hematology as a radiologist in the Office of X-ray Computed Tomography.
David K. Togonidze- radiologist. David Togonidze graduated from Tbilisi State Medical Institute (1994). He completed his clinical residency in hematology NMRC for Hematology (1995-1997). After completing the courses of primary specialization in radiology in 1997, he began working at the NMRC for Hematology as a radiologist in the Office of X-ray Computed Tomography.
Alexey V. Maksimov- radiologist. Graduated from the I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University with a degree in general medicine (2009). He was trained in clinical residency (2009 - 2011) and postgraduate studies (2011 - 2014) in the specialty "radiology.” From 2014 to the present, he has been working at the NMRC for Hematology as a radiologist. He is skilled in the entire spectrum of X-ray, CT and MRI techniques.
