Tatiana Garmaeva graduated from the medical faculty of the Irkutsk State Medical Institute in 1983.
In 1984, she completed an internship in therapy at the N. A. Semashko Republican Hospital in Ulan-Ude.
From 1984 to 1989, she worked as a general practitioner and a shop general practitioner in Ulan-Ude. From 1989 to 1991, she completed a clinical residency in internal medicine at the Department of Propedeutics of the Kemerovo State Medical Institute. From 1991 to 1995, she was the Deputy Chief Physician of the Territorial Medical Association No. 1 of Ulan-Ude and assistant at the Department of General Practice of the Irkutsk State Institute for Advanced Medical Training. From 1996 to 2000 - postgraduate student of the Department of Hematology and Intensive Care of the Russian Medical Academy of Professional Education (Head of the Department - Academician A.I. Vorobyev) at the State Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences (now the NMRC for Hematology); from 2001 to 2005, she completed her doctoral studies at the State Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, under the guidance of Academician V.G. Savchenko; from 2005 to 2011- researcher, senior researcher at the Laboratory of Biostatistics and Information Systems of the State Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences; since 2011- head of the Scientific and Organizational Division of the NMRC for Hematology; from 2018-2021- Deputy General Director of the NMRC for Hematology for organization and methodological work and interaction with the regions of the Russian Federation, Associate Professor at the Department of Hospital Therapy, RUND University (2013)
Research interests: diseases of the blood system - population hematology, clinical epidemiology of viral hepatitis B and C in onco-hematology; hemotransmissive viral infections and viral safety of transfusions; assessment of the residual risk of transfusion infection, donation of blood components; electronic information and analytical resources of science and education management.
