Olga Lazareva graduated from the Moscow State Medical and Dental University with a degree in general medicine in 2005. She completed her full-time clinical residency at the NMRC for Hematology the Ministry of Health of Russia with a degree in "Hematology and Blood Transfusion" in 2007. In 2010 she completed her full-time postgraduate studies in the specialty "Hematology.”
Lazareva defended her Candidate of Medical Sciences thesis at the NMRC for Hematology on the topic "Information technologies for monitoring and analyzing long–term therapy results of patients with chronic myeloid leukemia" (2011, scientific supervisor – Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences, A.G. Turkina, scientific consultant – Candidate of Technical Sciences, S.M. Kulikov).
She worked as a researcher/hematologist of the Department of Chemotherapy for Leukemia and Erythron Pathology from 2009-2012 and was a researcher in the Scientific Advisory Department of Chemotherapy of Myeloproliferative Diseases from 2012-2018.
She completed professional retraining in the specialty "Healthcare Organization and Public Health" in 2019.
Olga Lazareva was the head of the Department for Improving the Provision of Medical Care in the Profile "hematology" from 2019-2021 and has been head of the Management Division of Regional and Interdepartmental Cooperation in the Field of Hematology since 2021.
Throughout all of these years, her scientific and clinical activity has been devoted to the organization of healthcare and coordination of the hematology service in the Russian Federation: the creation of a system of registration and accounting of patients with diseases of the blood system, the improvement of regulatory legal acts, the introduction of high-tech methods of diagnosis, and treatment and monitoring of the vital status of hematological patients in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
From 2008 to 2018, O.V. Lazareva took an active part in the development, implementation and operation of the Register of Patients with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia - the first mononosological hematology register of the country, which was implemented in all constituent entities of the Russian Federation and covered the patient population as much as possible (more than 10,000 entries). She is a member of the international scientific community – the European Hematology Association (EHA), the working group CML European Leukemia Net (from 2008 to the present in the European Project – the Register of Patients with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia). She is also a coordinator of multicenter studies.
Since 2020, Lazareva has been a participant in the organization and execution of the Profile Commission of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation in the specialty "Hematology.” She is a member of the National Hematology Society.
