Tatyana N. Obukhova graduated from the Volgograd State Medical University in 1991. After graduation, she completed an internship in the specialty of "therapy.” From 1992-1994, she received her clinical residency training, continuing on to complete her postgraduate studies in the specialty "hematology and blood transfusion" at the Hematological Scientific Center (now NMRC for Hematology), in 1997.  In 1998 she defended her thesis for the degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences.

Tatyana Obukhova began her career at the National Medical Research Center for Hematology in 1997 as a researcher. In 2002, she became a senior researcher and in 2011, a leading researcher. She has been the head of the Laboratory of Karyology since 2013.

She participates in both Russian and international conferences presenting the results of scientific research annually and trains residents, graduate students, and specialists undergoing training and internship in the workplace. She also participates in giving lectures for hematologists on improvement cycles.

Tatyana Obukhova is the country’s leading specialist in the field of molecular-cytogenetic research of tumor diseases of the lymphatic system.

She is a member of the National Society of Hematologists and the European Association of Cytogenetics.
