Andrey Sudarikov was born on July 6, 1958 in Moscow. In 1975 he graduated from the mathematical school No. 710 and entered the Faculty of Biology at Moscow State University, graduating in 1980. His diploma thesis on molecular genetics of T-even phages was carried out at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. From 1980 to 1988, he worked at the All-Union Cardiology Center of the USSR Ministry of Health. He defended his thesis in molecular genetics of mitochondria of Saccaromyces cerevisiae for the degree of Candidate of Biological Sciences in 1986. From 1988 to the present, he has been working at the National Medical Research Center for Hematology. At various times he has worked on joint projects in Italy (Sclavo Research labs, Siena), Germany (University of Erlangen-Nuremberg), Canada (Toronto University) and the USA (MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston). Since 1992, he has been the head of the Laboratory of Molecular Hematology at the National Medical Research Center for Hematology. He defended his doctoral dissertation, "Molecular Diagnostics of Hepatitis C, B, G Viruses and Parvovirus B19 in Hematological Patients," in 2012. He is engaged in the development of molecular methods for the diagnosis of blood diseases. Concurrently, he is an expert of the Federal Service for External Quality Control of Laboratory Research in the "DNA diagnostics" division and an expert of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research and the Russian Science Foundation.
