Post-release of the IV Congress of Hematologists
From 12-14 April 2018, the IV Congress of Hematologists of Russia was held in the Congress Park of the Hotel Ukraine.
The goals of the IV Congress of Hematologists of Russia are aimed at highlighting new technologies in medical science and improving the level and quality of fundamental and applied research. The purpose is to introduce results based on these goals that ensure the quality, reproducibility and accessibility of specialized hematology care to the population of the country as well as fostering the motivation and potential of scientific personnel.
The Congress was attended by experts in the field of onco-hematology and bone marrow transplantation, innovative fundamental and applied research, specialists in the field of hematological intensive care, clinical microbiology, pathological morphology and clinical transfusiology. The event was also attended by employees from all leading Russian hematology centers, all chief hematologists of Federal districts and regions, and hematologists of the entire hematology service of the country.
Within the framework of the Congress, two specialized commissions were held on the specialties hematology and transfusiology.
The Congress was attended by international experts and scientists from Europe, the United States of America, Great Britain, and Brazil. A meeting of the European Initiative Research Group for the Study of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia was held within the framework of the Congress.
The Congress was attended by 2006 people: 1,360 people were registered online, 646 people were registered at the Congress venue. More than half of all participants were hematologists — 68%. The scientific program of the Congress was relevant for specialists in various fields, which is reflected in the statistical picture of the specialties of the Congress participants — transfusiologists, doctors of clinical laboratory diagnostics, pediatricians, internists, surgeons, doctors of other specialties.
Geography of the IV Congress of Hematologists of Russia
The Congress was attended by specialists from 162 cities of the Russian Federation and neighboring countries, in particular, from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Kirov, Samara, Kazan, Irkutsk, Perm, Ivanovo, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, Tashkent, Penza, Krasnoyarsk, Ryazan and other cities.
All participants had a chance to take part in the thesis competition. Each thesis was evaluated by a group of experts according to three criteria — relevance, significance and design. The score was set on a digital scale from 1 to 10 by each expert. The average score was calculated automatically, determining the thesis rating.
Based on the results of expert calculations, the best abstracts were selected, the authors of which were invited to make oral presentations.
