Vera Vasilieva graduated with honors from the Volgograd State Medical University in 2010 She began her residency at the National Medical Research Center for Hematology in 2010 and continued on to her full-time postgraduate studies in the Department of Chemotherapy of Hemoblastosis and Bone Marrow Transplantation. Since 2011, she has worked as a hematologist in the Department of Bone Marrow Transplantation. In 2014 she completed an internship at the University Hospital Leipzig (Prof. Dietger Niederwieser). She defended her thesis on the topic, "Circulating Endothelial Cells and the Population of Type 17 T-helpers in the Early Stages after Transplantation of Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cells," in 2018 V.A. Vasilieva was awarded the first qualification category in 2018
Since 2018, Vasilieva has been working as head of the department.
In addition to working as the head of her department and clinical work, she actively participates in the scientific activities of the department. She has more than 220 publications, annually takes part in international and domestic conferences devoted to the problems of allogeneic transplantation in hemoblastosis and presents oral reports.
Vasilieva is a key member of the search group when working with unrelated donors from both Russian and international registries. The project "Patient Schools after Transplantation of Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cells" was implemented under the leadership of Vasilyeva.
In 2021, she became the winner of the All-Russian competition of doctors in the category of "Best Therapist.”
Area of interest: complications after transplantation of allogeneic hematopoietic cells, acute and chronic graft versus host reactions, popularization of donation in the Russian Federation.
