LosRead the entire reviewCollapseI am very grateful to all the doctors of the NMRC for Hematology for their professional, cordial and conscientious attitude towards all patients. I am also grateful to the head of the polyclinic T.N. Moiseeva, surgeon M.A. Silaev, Y.S. Los, and my beloved hematologist S.Y. Smirnova. She prescribed many tests in order to establish a correct diagnosis. I was in a panic, but she gave me hope for healing. I believed her and continue to live a normal life as I had once lived.Ksenia Shakurova23 July 2025Gratitude to the specialists of the Department of Pathology of the NMRC for HematologyRead the entire reviewCollapseDear specialists of the Department of Pathology of the NMRC for Hematology,
My name is Ksenia Shakurova, and I would like to express my deep gratitude and sincere appreciation to you for your high level of professionalism, attentive attitude, and invaluable contribution to establishing an accurate diagnosis.
My path to understanding the nature of my disease turned out to be long and arduous. In my homeland, in Kyrgyzstan (2023), I was diagnosed with Lymphogranulomatosis. Later, when I contacted the the Gemotest laboratory in Moscow, a diagnosis of “Hodgkin's lymphoma” was made. Further, at the MEMORIAL Private Clinic in Istanbul (Turkey), the diagnosis was determined as “Yüksek dereceli non-Hodgkin's lymphoma” — a non-Hodgkin's lymphoma of high malignancy. Later, a diagnosis from Minsk clarified that it was B-cell lymphoma. However, I received the final conclusion, which shed light on my clinical picture, only at the NMRC for Hematology after more than a year and a half and after completing several lines of treatment.
It was your specialists who established the exact diagnosis: primary mediastinal large B-cell lymphoma involving the breast. This conclusion was crucial in shaping the future treatment strategy. Separately, I would like to emphasize the importance of your approach — you decided to conduct a full re-examination, rather than relying on previously made conclusions. This approach eliminated a number of diagnostic errors.
I would also like to express my special gratitude to the pathomorphologists for their ability to accurately distinguish between similar morphological features, but radically different methods of treating lymphomas such as Hodgkin's lymphoma, B—cell lymphoma and gray zone lymphoma. Unfortunately, I have learned from my own experience how critically important the diagnostic stage is: time, financial resources, and, most importantly, the prevention of irreversible consequences of treatment based on an incorrect primary diagnosis, as in my case.
Before contacting your Center, the breast lesion was considered by various specialists as a fibroadenoma. Then, a needle biopsy was performed, which, as I learned later, is not the most informative method in such cases. It was only thanks to the high professionalism of your pathologists that we were able to clarify and get a complete answer to my diagnosis.
Thank you for your hard work, your skill and your humanity. You have given me back not only hope, but also the opportunity to move forward based on accurate and reliable medical information.
With sincere respect and gratitude,
Ksenia Shakurova
